So why the discount? You will notice that the quality cut is slightly imperfect and to recut this gem to the absolute perfection it would cost half a carat. But for jewelry it is already very good and can be used as is for one who would like a larger slightly asymmetric gem rather than a smaller perfect heirloom level gemstone.
