Gemstones originating from Cambodia's provinces other than Pailin: Rattanakiri, Mondulkiri, Preah Vihear... Cambodia has a good supply of Ruby, Sapphire, Aquamarine, Topaz, Peridot, Zircon, Chalcedony and more. 

Traditionally there is no specific name for each gemstone type and appelations can become very confusing as there is no definite convention. 

Mainly Cambodians call Ruby and Sapphire "Tabong". Now if there is a difference to make between these and the rest of the stones, they will refer to the hardness of the stone where Ruby/Sapphire will be called "hard flesh" (Ksath Rung) and the rest will be called "soft flesh" (Ksath Tun). Other semi-precious material such as Chalcedony or Calcite are just called "rock" (T'mo). 

If need is to go into further detail in order to name a stone then it is called as per its traditional origin, which can become very confusing because most origins provide more than 1 type of stone, but mainly Peridot is called "Tabong Mondolkiri", Chalcedony is "Tabong Peah Vihear" (while that area also provides lots of Sapphire), Quartz is "Tabong Takeo", Blue Zircon is "Tabong Ratanakiri" and so on. 

There are Zircon Quartz and other stones in Pailin, but when referring to "Tabong Pailin" Cambodians refer to Pink Ruby or Royal Blue Sapphire.
